Aging is normal. However sometimes adjusting to and accepting the changes aging brings can be more difficult than expected. The challenges that can feel overwhelming and hard to navigate alone.

My great passion as a social worker is supporting people to find the courage to face these changes and adjust to experiences that they find difficult and painful. I help people to find a quality of life and enable them to feel better about themselves whatever their circumstances.

I qualified in 1988 with an Honours Degree in Social Work from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown in Northern Ireland. During these 30 years I have worked in hospital and community health centres both in the UK and Australia. In 2016 I became an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker to consolidate my years of experience working with people living with a mental health issues. Specialising in working with older people and their family and carers, in this phase of my career is privilege, challenging and interesting.

I have lived and worked on the Central Coast for over 4 years and have built up an extensive knowledge of local services and contacts to benefit the people I work with. Being part of Wisdom Connected is important to me. I know I am working for a highly ethical organisation of social workers who put people at the heart of their work. They work from a stance of respect, empowerment and justice. It gives me peace of mind knowing people are getting a professional, confidential service with highly experienced social workers who really understand.
